FISHERS — Carroll’s boys volleyball team’s inaugural season came to an end May 20 with a loss to Hamilton Southeastern at the regional tournament.
The Royals prevailed over the Chargers, 25-7, 25-9, 25-15.
Carroll finished 22-6 in its first season.

Charger mentor tapped for all-star series
Carroll head baseball coach Dave Ginder will be busy a little longer this season.
The longtime Carroll coach has been chosen to coach the North squad in the upcoming Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star series, scheduled for June 23-25 at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette.
Chargers roll into sectional tournament
Carroll is headed into the postseason on a good note at 20-5.
The Chargers went 2-1 last week, beating Norwell, 2-1 on Monday, May 15, and downing Bellmont, 17-2 on Wednesday, May 17. They fell to South Bend Adams, 6-4 on Thursday, May 16.
The Chargers got just four hits against Norwell, but made them count. Daniel Kirk and Camden Herschberger both went 1-for-3 for Carroll. Brady Long got the win on the mound for the Chargers, going the distance and striking out seven.
Against Bellmont, Herschberger, Kirk, Jaxon Sparks and Andrew Sinish each had two hits.
The Chargers host their Class 4A sectional and will play a Friday night, May 26 contest against the winner of a Wednesday, May 24 first-round game between Northrop and DeKalb.

Chargers ready for postseason
Carroll is ready for the sectional tournament after going 3-1 last week to wrap up the 2023 regular season.
The Chargers lost to South Bend Adams, 4-3 on Tuesday, May 16, but rebounded to close out the week with three straight wins, besting Concordia, 5-2 on Thursday, May 18; beating Adams Central, 10-4 on Friday, May 19 and wrapping up the season with a 9-3 win over Northridge on Saturday, May 20.
Against Concordia, Delaney Conner led the way, going 2-for-3 with a run scored. She also was the top hitter against Adams Central going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
The Chargers were scheduled to open the Class 4A sectional tournament at DeKalb Tuesday night, May 23 against Northrop.
Girls tennis
Chargers win sectional title
Carroll took the Carroll Sectional championship last week, besting Leo in the finals, 4-1.
The Chargers got wins from Jana Beier at No. 1 singles; from Riley Glassley at No. 2 singles; from Kenna Shoup at No. 3 singles; and from their No. 2 doubles duo of Megan McMillen and Julianne Ounsobath.
Carroll was scheduled to open regional play at home against Homestead on Tuesday, May 23.
