Chargers’ Welsh competes at girls state meet

MOORESVILLE — Carroll’s Cheyanne Welch competed at the Indiana High School Girls Wrestling state meet on Friday after winning a regional championship the previous week.
Welch, a 113-pound freshman, bowed out of the state tournament in the first round, losing to Rachel Ramirez of Sullivan by pin (3:12).
Welch punched her ticket for the state tournament at the Jay County Regional on Jan. 7. She went 3-0 at the regional, breezing to the individual title at 113 with three consecutive pins.
