Fridays in September: Trinity English Lutheran Church, 450 W. Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne, in the church nave. 12:10-12:40 p.m. Rebecca Burkart, Ball State University, presents music for solo harpsichord. Performances are live and in person. Due to ongoing issues related to COVID, no lunch will be offered. Trinity English Lutheran Church asks that all be prepared to wear masks within the building. This year during Fridays in September, Trinity celebrates the 25th anniversary of Trinity’s Tkach Harpsichord and the acquisition of the Dobson Pipe Organ Op 41 for Krauss Chapel.

Friday Nites Live summer concert series: Jefferson Pointe, 4130 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, in the fountain area outside of Von Maur. 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tonight’s concert, featuring Ty Causey, concludes this summer’s concert series.

Historic West Main Street Farmers Market: 1936 W. Main St., Fort Wayne. 3-7:30 p.m. A popular outdoor market featuring fresh produce, food trucks and artisan creations. Open every Friday into October.

Johnnie Mae Farm Market: 2518 Winter St., Renaissance Pointe neighborhood, Fort Wayne. 2-6 p.m. The market offers vegetables, herbs and herbs grown on-site. Cash and SNAP are accepted.

Fish and tenderloin fry: Southwest Conservation Club, 5703 Bluffton Road, Fort Wayne. 5-7 p.m. $10 for adults, $5 for ages 5 and under. All-you-can-eat dine-in meals have resumed. Carry-outs also available. Fish fries are offered the first and third Fridays of every month.

ServSafe all-day training and exam: Purdue Extension of Allen County, on the Purdue Fort Wayne Campus, 4001 Crescent Ave., Fort Wayne. Geared toward food handlers who need to obtain a Retail Food Handling Certificate. Photo ID with signature is required for exams. The cost of the exam with the book is $115. The cost of exam-only events is $65. Registration is required in advance in order to receive a textbook and avoid a $20 late fee. English and Spanish exams are available. Salute to First Responders: Promenade Park, Fort Wayne. 11 a.m. Better Business Bureau hosts a Salute to First Responders in honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Miss Pride of Indiana USA Lydia Tremaine will sing the national anthem, and a short program will follow including BBB President and CEO Marjorie Stephens, Lt. Corey Culler from the Indiana State Police, the Rev. Donovan Coley with Fort Wayne Rescue Mission, and other. A free lunch, sponsored by Hall’s Catering, will be provided to the first 150 first responders following the program. The public is welcome to attend. Benefit concert: ACRES Land Trust Dustin Barn, 1992 Chapman Road, Huntertown. 6:30 p.m. Admission is free; free-will donations are encouraged. The concert features Soltre, a group of four multi-instrumentalists and singers, who will perform folk music in the Irish and American traditions. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and beverages to this outdoor event. Proceeds will benefit the land trust’s capital campaign, a project to expand the ACRES headquarters at the Dustin Nature Preserve.

Fish and pork tenderloin fry: Park Edelweiss, 3355 Elmhurst Drive, Fort Wayne. 4:30-7:30 p.m. $10 adults, $5 children. All-you-can-eat fish and pork tenderloin with scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, dessert and coffee. Full service bar available with German and domestic beer, wine and other beverages and soft drinks. Airplane rides for children: Smith Field Airport, 426 W. Ludwig Road, Fort Wayne. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 2 (EAA2) is giving children ages 8-17 a free airplane ride in small airplanes.
