Two people were pronounced dead after two vehicles collided the evening of Jan. 15 near the intersection of Arcola Road and Yellow River Road. The Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of the crash about 9:50 p.m.

After the collision, both vehicles caught fire. The driver of one vehicle was able to move away from his vehicle and remained on scene. After the fire on the second vehicle was extinguished, two people were found dead inside the vehicle. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene, by TRAA Medics.

Autopsies have been completed along with identification and notification to the next of kin for Laine C. Arvey, a white woman, 40, of Fort Wayne, and Matthew P. Tustison, a white man, 49, also of Fort Wayne.

Rulings on the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation and testing.

The investigation continues by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
