At about 9:30 a.m. April 28, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle crash on a parking lot in the 6100 block of Decatur Road, in Fort Wayne. A vehicle had left the roadway entered on to the parking lot and struck a parked trailer. The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Coroner’s Office was requested on scene. The driver has been positively identified as Jarice Utique Austin, female, 22, from Fort Wayne, Indiana.

In a news release Monday, the Coroner’s Office said cause and manner of death are pending further investigation and testing.

Austin is the 14th fatal motor vehicle crash in Allen County for 2023.

The investigation continues by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
