The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to an apartment fire in the 3100 block of Vance Avenue on May 11.

Crews found the fire in the kitchen of the second-story apartment that began from cooking products on the stove. The fire spread to a cabinet above the stove, but firefighters extinguished the fire and confirmed that the occupants had already evacuated prior to arrival.

One occupant sustained a minor burn and was treated at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by Neighborhood Code Enforcement, Northern Indiana Public Service Company and Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.
