The Allen County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the person who died in a traffic crash at about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at the intersection of Lima Road and Washington Center Road in Fort Wayne.

The female victim has been identified as Rebeca Garcia-Salazar, 33, of Fort Wayne.

The Coroner’s Office said Garcia-Salazar was stopped at the intersection when another vehicle lost control, striking her vehicle. Mrs. Garcia-Salazar was transported from the scene by Three Rivers Ambulance Authority and was taken to a local hospital where death was pronounced.

The death is the seventh traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2021.

The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
