The Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a fatal crash at the intersection of South Anthony Boulevard and Lafayette Street on Sept. 7 at approximately 11:40 p.m. Information provided was that a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck pulling a trailer and death was pronounced on scene by paramedics.

The coroner’s office was requested on the scene. The decedent has been identified and the next of kin has been notified of the death of McKinzee Henry Hicks, 19, of Fort Wayne.

The cause of death has been determined to be blunt force injuries due to pedestrian versus motor vehicle crash and manner of death is accident.

Hicks is the 33rd fatal motor vehicle crash in 2021 for Allen County.

This remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
