The City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to Parkview Hospital on Randallia Drive on Sept. 7 at approximately 1:54 p.m. in reference to a shooting victim. The victim arrived at the hospital via private conveyance.

Officers arrived and found a male adult victim who appeared to be suffering from a single gunshot wound to the side. The victim was transferred to another local hospital for treatment in reference to life-threatening injuries.

Information gathered from a witness at the hospital placed the location of the shooting in the 4000 block of Hessen Cassel Road. At that location, officers located evidence of the shooting outside of an apartment.

Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood and are speaking with potential witnesses. There is no one in custody and no suspect information to provide at this time.
