HUNTERTOWN — The Huntertown Heritage Days Treasure Hunt 2023 is upon us. The treasure has been carefully and cleverly hidden.

Clues are coming one after another to help every, eagle-eyed, investigative sleuth pinpoint the location of the coveted Treasure Hunt canister.

Up for grabs is $318.37. The odd amount of $18.37 is a nod to the year the Huntertown area was born. The extra $300 was added to make the hunt more interesting.

A new sponsor, Environmental Management Specialists, 2409 Hunter Road, joined longtime sponsors Lima Road Dentistry, 9019 Lima Road, and Well Grounded Café, 14517 Lima Road.

Becoming one of the sponsors of this long-running, popular event includes increased name recognition in the Huntertown community and wider recognition in the Northwest News circulation area. Additionally, postings on social media can reach a nationwide — or even a global audience.

Businesses interested in helping sponsor Treasure Hunt 2023 can contact Hal Atkinson, (the former owner of the Lima Road Dentistry, at 260-710-0073 by Aug. 3 for details. Treasure Hunt 2023 sponsorship is currently set at three levels. Gold sponsor at $100, Silver sponsor at $50 and Copper sponsor at $20.

It’s quadrilateral Time! Four points to plot.

You’ll shrink the search zone by connecting the dots!

The space within the quad is where Treasure rests.

Search wisely. A sharp eye will aid in your quest.

Point 1 is a spot that is highly likely

To have the largest “Huntertown” around to see.

Point 2 is the home of the Amazin’ Asian.

Wrap up in this clue and you’ll be sign gazin’ !

Point 3 is forever (yeah, right) 66.

Some red, white and blue may help with this trick.

Point 4 is a fairly new street. Check phone maps!

A witching hour pursuit should fill in the gaps.

That’s it! Clue 2 is now logged in the books.

Mosey around town and give it some looks.

When you find the canister just call LRD. (Lima Road Dentistry)

You’ll be holding the trophy for all to see!

Rules

Finally, just a reminder as you seek the hidden Treasure be mindful of the rules. They are:

1. The Treasure note will be in a 35mm film canister.

2. The canister will be hidden on public property or public access property within the corporate limits of Huntertown.

3. The Treasure Hunt is open to anyone!

4. The Treasure Hunt will continue until someone finds the canister.

5. The finder should take the canister to Lima Road Dentistry at 9019 Lima Road in the Empire Center, OR take it to Well Grounded Café, 14517 Lima Road. Instructions will be inside the canister.

6. “Public access property” is defined as private property that the public can walk on where it is unlikely the owner will be annoyed. But the canister won’t be in somebody’s front yard!
