A man was hospitalized in critical condition after a Monday night shooting in Fort Wayne.

At about 9:32 p.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of Buchanan Street.

Officers arrived on scene to find a woman with minor abrasions due to glass from a vehicle that received gunfire. At that time officers did not locate any gunshot victim. Officers learned that there had been a gathering outside when a vehicle pulled up and several shots were fired. As of midday Tuesday police had no vehicle description. Medics treated the woman on scene and she was released.

Several minutes after the initial call, officers were notified by a local hospital that a gunshot victim had arrived. The man was listed in critical condition. The Fort Wayne Homicide team was requested to assist with the investigation. Investigators and crime scene technicians are processing the scene for evidence and interviewing witnesses.
