Take part in Huntertown’s treasure hunt leading into Heritage Days.

HUNTERTOWN — Our own, very popular, and long-awaited Huntertown Heritage Days are nearly upon us.

Perhaps more importantly, the 24th annual Huntertown Treasure Hunt, a part of Heritage Days festivities, is well underway. Yes, it is time once again, to seek the $318.37 treasure that is so cleverly hidden by treasure hunt organizers.

So far, two Treasure Hunt clues hinting at where the prize is hidden have been published and posted. To be sure, many people are puzzling over those clues right now. Keep reading and you will soon discover the third and final clue.

“It is amazing how many people get out and run around looking for the treasure. It is kind of a community thing,” Hal Atkinson, Treasure Hunt organizer said.

While not part of the third clue it is important to note that no street maps will be provided this year. Google maps will be used. The rate of increase in the number of streets in Huntertown makes paper maps almost outdated when they come out, he said.

According to Atkinson, one of the streets referenced in the “quadrilateral” clue is not even on last year’s map! Google maps and similar sources have new information quickly.

In a recent email Atkinson said, Huntertown HAS done a good job at having signs that say HUNTERTOWN on every road at the border. And the border is always expanding. Past

Treasures have been found in the addition north of Carroll HS, by Walgreen’s at Carroll Road and Dupont, on Hathaway Road, and along Lima Road just north of Empowered.

Some lucky sleuth who diligently deciphers the clues and finds the treasure will be $318.37 richer. Additionally, your name will be engraved on the legendary Huntertown Treasure Hunt trophy. The fantastic trophy is prominently displayed at the Well Grounded Café for all to see.

Winners have had their names engraved on the trophy since 2000. Ahh immortality–at last!

The long-time sponsors for this fun event are Well Grounded Café,14517 Lima Road, and the Lima Road Dentistry, 9019 Lima Road. Additionally, this year, a new sponsor joined the duo: Environmental Management Specialists, 2409 Hunter Road.

A hearty thank you to our sponsors for bringing the community together in such a unique way.

For more information on becoming a sponsor for next year’s Treasure Hunt text Hal Atkinson at 260-710-0073. Currently, there are three sponsor levels: Gold at $100; Silver at $50 and copper at $20.

With no further information to share or rambling thoughts to air, here is Clue 3
