The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred in the area of Holton Avenue and Creighton Avenue on May 11 at approximately 11:21 a.m.

Witnesses heard shots and saw someone running immediately afterward. It is not known what the intended target of the shooting was, not was anyone struck or injured. Initial information was limited and inconsistent.

Officers followed up on all initial leads of the investigation and two people were detained, then released a short time afterward. No arrests have been made in the incident.

Multiple witnesses reported seeing someone running from the direction of the shooting, but no one told police that they witnessed the shooting. Police were unsure where the actual shooting took place and were assisted by media to the location of the shell casings at the intersection. The casings were collected and placed into evidence.

This incident remains under investigation by FWPD and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
