Old Fort Cluster Dog Shows set
The Northeastern Indiana Kennel Club will present Old Fort Cluster Dog Shows, Nov. 3-6 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave., Fort Wayne. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Admission is $7 for adults; children under 13 are admitted free with a donation to the Food Pantry of Fort Wayne. Coliseum parking is $8.
The event offers a chance to experience a dog show and see unique breeds in person.
The Old Fort Cluster is sponsored by Purina and is an American Kennel Club sanctioned dog show, in which dogs hope to make their way to the prestigious Westminster Dog Show in New York City. Over 190 breeds will be represented, and nationally recognized professional handlers, judges, owners and breeders will be there to showcase some of the country’s top dogs.
This year’s show includes a range of special events, including Obedience and Rally Trials on Saturday and Sunday, Canine Good Citizen Testing on Saturday, Trick Dog Testing on Sunday, and a Puppy Match on Friday. On Saturday at noon, there will be a Meet the Breeds event, which is designed to help people of all ages learn about more about dog ownership and purebred dogs.
A gallery of art contest entries and winners from participating Fort Wayne Community Schools (grades K-5) will be featured. There will also be vendors from all over the country selling a range of unique products, including art, jewelry, clothing and dog-related supplies.
