The Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a fatal motor vehicle crash located in the 7900 block of South Anthony Boulevard on Dec. 24 at approximately 5:40 p.m. The deceased was pronounced dead on the scene by medics.

Ruth Beyer, 90, of Fort Wayne, was involved in a crash and while out of her vehicle, at the initial crash scene, she was struck by another vehicle which then fled the scene.

An autopsy has been completed and the next of kin as been notified of the death which has been identified as Beyer.

The cause of death has been determined to be multiple blunt force injuries due to motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash.

Beyer is the 46th fatal motor vehicle crash in Allen County for 2021.

This remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutors Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
