The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified, and made notifications to the next of kin of the deceased individual that was involved in a motor vehicle crash at I69, mile marker 269D ramp, in Fort Wayne at approximately 9:04 a.m. on Dec. 20.

The deceased has been identified as Ricky Allen Craig, male, 42, of Huntington.

Craig was the operator of a motor vehicle that left the roadway and struck an interstate structure box. Southwest EMS pronounced him deceased at the scene.

The cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries due to motor vehicle crash and the manner of death is accident.

Craig is the 45th traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2021.

This incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
