HUNTERTOWN — Well Made & More, 14505 Lima Road features the creations of dozens of local crafters and artists.

The grand opening for the newly redesigned space is set for July 13. Hours for the event are scheduled from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

“There is nothing like this in the community. There is no place for anyone in the community to grab a quick gift for somebody, Sherry Myers, owner of Well Grounded Café, said. Adding, “We have made sure things are unique.”

Well Made & More gives a community of area craft vendors a permanent home for their creations.

The store features hundreds of products for adults, children and pets.

Goods for dogs, cats, and horses are available. Besides pets there are personal care items on display for people. Additionally, products are available from an area lavender farm. Another vendor offers honey for sale.

“We have got unique stuff that people repurpose. We have three different candle vendors each with their own spin on marketing candles. A variety of knitted and crocheted items, barrettes and bows, paintings, a metal sculpture, stained glass items, and large shopping bags are available,” she said.

Another vendor offers sensory boxes for children. The boxes feature various items and directions for children to make their own creations.

“The first day we were open (for a soft opening) those sold like crazy. They really did well with those boxes,” Myers said.

Yet another vendor features colorful 3-D printed, articulated toys. Meanwhile, a different vendor offers 3-D printed lamps in a variety of colors.

Still another vendor has created kitchen packs featuring crocheted potholders, kitchen utensils and a cutting board. According to Myers every pack is a little different.

The new venture Well Made & More is the brainchild of Myers, a long-time Huntertown business owner. Several weeks ago, a quick email from Myers to some vendors announcing a then upcoming organizational meeting launched the distinctive collaborative.

The meeting was packed with about 30 interested vendors. Additionally, several others unable to attend expressed an interest in having a permanent space to display their products, Myers said.

Because of time constraints on her already busy schedule, Myers told the assembled crowd if they were willing to help open and run the store, she would sign the lease for the space and “see what happens.”

Prior to opening Well Made & More Myers already knew many of the vendors and was familiar with their products.

“There were lots of market vendors that brought their items into Well Grounded. I was running out of space over there (because) we had so many vendors. So, we moved them over here when this space became available,” Myers said.

The Well-Grounded Café is located two doors north of Well Made & More. Opening a shop designed to showcase the talents of others comes naturally to Myers. She looks for ways to promote area small businesses while providing goods and services to an ever-expanding Huntertown population.

Currently, Instagram features photos of merchandise on display in the shop. Additionally, Meet The Maker bios highlight various vendors and their craft. Later, upcoming events scheduled for the venue are expected to be posted.

According to Myers, as vendors and potential customers become more familiar with this new shopping experience some evening hours and opportunities for networking are being planned.
