Feb. 25 4-H Fling promises auctions, food and fun

The 2023 Allen County 4-H Fling promises a chicken dinner, live and silent auctions and more.
The Feb. 25 fundraiser for 4-H youth programs will be in the Home & Family Arts Building at the Allen County Fairgrounds, 2726 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne. Serving begins at 5 p.m. and continues until 7 p.m. unless sold out earlier. The live auction begins at 6:30 p.m.
The meal includes a half-chicken and sides. The meal includes a half roasted chicken, two sides, a dessert, and a beverage. Meal prices at the door are $10. All carry-out meals are $10. Advance sale tickets are $7 and are available through Feb. 24 at the Purdue Extension Allen County Office, 4001 Crescent Ave., on the Purdue Fort Wayne campus. Tickets at the door on Feb. 25 will be $10.
4-H is looking for new donated items or services for the live or silent auction. The 4-H Board is challenging each club to donate a basket of donations such as games, s’mores, chocolate or fair survival snacks. For more information, contact Purdue Extension Allen County at 260-481-6826.
Auction items listed as of Jan. 31 include a tabletop patio heater, a 2023 Fair ticket package, a chainsaw carving statue of a racoon, assorted gift baskets and more.
