On Wednesday, April 19, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a motorcycle crash in the 3800 Block of Hessen Cassel Road, in Fort Wayne. The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital and was later pronounced deceased.

The motorcyclist was identified as Benjamin Ashley Wires Sargent, 59, of Fort Wayne.

The cause of death has been determined to be multiple blunt force injuries due to a motorcycle crash and the manner of death is ruled an accident.

Benjamin Ashley Wires Sargent is the eighth traffic fatality for Allen County for 2023.

This incident is under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
