Police seek SUV that left scene of accident
FORT WAYNE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Fort Wayne Police released photos of a vehicle that left the scene of an accident in which a motorcyclist was injured.
At approximately 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, Fort Wayne Police responded to an accident in the 4400 block of East Washington Boulevard. Officers observed a motorcycle on its side in the street. Officers then saw a male adult lying on the side of the road suffering from injuries sustained from the crash. The male operator of the motorcycle had been traveling west in the 4400 block of East Washington when the motorcycle crashed into the rear of a stopped SUV. The SUV made a U-turn in the 4400 block of East Washington, where the accident had occurred, and proceeded east toward New Haven.
Officers on scene tended to the victim as medics arrived then transported the victim to a hospital where he was described as in critical condition.
The SUV is described by witnesses as silver in color with extensive rear-end damage.
The Fort Wayne Police Department Fatal Accident Team and Air Support Unit were called to the scene to investigate.
