The Allen County Master Gardener Association will hold its annual plant sale from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. May 20 at the Allen County Purdue Extension Office, 4001 Crescent Ave., Fort Wayne. The sale is the group’s biggest annual fundraiser.

A wide variety of annual and perennial plants will be available, as well as other garden-related items such as pots, seeds and more.

According to ACGMA Vice President of Communications Heather Shively, Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer any gardening questions people may have. “Everyone working the sale is a Master Gardener, you can identify them by their badges,” Shively said.

She said the group includes about 270 active Master Gardeners from all walks of life. “Most, if not all of our MGs are avid gardeners with special passions like native plants, tree care, violets, house plants, etc.,” she said.

“There will be three Master Gardener vendors at the May sale — Glenn Hile/honey products; Rick Ritter/fruit trees; and Martha Ferguson/native plants. All three experts as well as all MGs on-site can provide answers and offer advice for plant shoppers,” Shively said.

Plants for sale are grown by Master Gardener volunteers and in the various public Display Gardens at the Extension Office. Payment will be accepted in cash and check form, but not card.

Proceeds help support the Display Gardens and the ACMGA program in Allen County, which hosts a spring and fall class Master Gardener Intern class.

Free parking is available in the parking garage adjacent to the Extension office, located on the Purdue Fort Wayne campus.

Information about where to email plant identification questions is available at https://extension.purdue.edu/county/allen/.
