The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo will offer a Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m.-noon May 13 and 14. Tickets are $22 for adults and $11 for children. To learn more, visit kidszoo.ticketapp.org/portal/product/64.
“It’s a fun day for families and moms,” said Kyle Ethelridge, guest experience events and sales manager.
This is the third year the zoo will host this activity. “We upped our counts (for this year),” Ethelridge said. Instead of 250 seats available, the zoo now can accommodate 400 each day.
The event in 2022 was sold out. The Sunday event this year is sold out — Saturday still has some room.
The brunch is held in the Parkview Physicians Group Pavilion area by the Sky Safari.
Although zoo admission is not included with the brunch, some bird exhibits that are not usually seen by the public and can be experienced by brunch guests.
Day passes or memberships can be purchased the same day.
Food for the brunch is prepared by SSA Group. The menu will include Danishes, biscuits and gravy, waffles and berries, scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes and veggies, fresh fruit, and standard breakfast beverages. Ethelridge said the food is served continuously throughout the 2-hour period.
Fun things to note at the zoo will include special signage emphasizing the relationship of animal mothers with their families, and live music at the brunch presented by the band Blue Pluto. The brunch is hosted by Vera Bradley and there will be a drawing for two Vera Bradley bags.
