Fort Wayne Police Officers responded to a call of a person down just before 11 a.m. at the 1000 block of West Coliseum Boulevard by the Regency Inn on Nov. 3.

Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by a citizen who came across an unconscious adult female who was found in an embankment by the roadway. Medics and the Fort Wayne Fire Department made the scene. The female was pronounced deceased by medics a short time after arrival.

It is unknown at this time how the female because deceased. There were no obvious signs of a crime or a vehicle accident. All death investigations are investigated as a crime until proven otherwise. The Allen County Coroner made the scene and helped process the body.

The coroner’s office will release the identity of the decedent, along with the cause and manner of death; pending next of kin notification and an autopsy. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD and the coroner’s office.
