The City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Point West Drive at West Wind Apartments in reference to an unknown problem on Nov. 10 at approximately 1:23 a.m.

A caller told dispatch a male subject was in the hallway yelling for help. Officers arrived and located a subject in the hallway suffering from an apparent stab wound. Officers were directed inside an apartment and located a subject suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The male adult stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The male adult shooting victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Upon arriving at the hospital, the stabbing victim’s condition was upgraded to non life-threatening by a physician. Initial information indicates there was an altercation inside the apartment between the two victims. Detectives hope to obtain additional details once they are able to interview the victim.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased identity along with the cause and manner of death. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
