13 region marching bands advance to four ISSMA semi-state sites
The Indiana State School Music Association announced that 81 high school marching bands have advanced to four Open Class Semi-State sites on Saturday, Oct. 30. The list includes 13 from Fort Wayne and the surrounding area.
Each band is entered in one of four categories determined by school size. Bands qualified for semi-state status by being among the top-scoring bands in their enrollment category at their Open Class Regional site on Oct. 16.
The semi-state contests will determine the 10 bands that will represent each class at the 48th Indiana State Marching Band Finals on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Admission for the semi-state events is $8 for adults and $5 for students and preschoolers.
