The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Oct. 8 at approximately 1 p.m. in the area of Clay and Madison Street.

A 17-year-old juvenile victim was located in the area suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was rendered aid by the Fort Wayne Fire Department and medics, then transported to a local hospital in non-life threatening condition.

Once at the hospital, the victim remained in non-life threatening condition. The victim, thus far, has been uncooperative with police.

Preliminary investigation indicates that there is a possible person of interest based on information gathered. This is an ongoing investigation and information continues to develop.

This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
