Allen County 4-H offers shooting sports programs
Allen County 4-H will offer two shooting sports programs this fall.
4-H will offer an air pistol program for youth currently in Grades 3-12. Cost is $40, which includes state and county 4-H Program fees, air pistol program fee, and use of all equipment. This class will be held Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30 and Oct. 7 and 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Allen County Fairgrounds, 2726 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne. A parent and youth orientation meeting will be Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Purdue Extension-Allen County Office, 4001 Crescent Ave, Fort Wayne. Class size is limited to 12 youth. A minimum of four paid participants is needed to hold the class. Paid registration is due by Aug. 20.
Discipline is taught by instructors certified through the Indiana 4-H Shooting Sports Program of Purdue University and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
4-H Shooting Sports will offer a shotgun program for youth currently in Grades 5-12. Cost is $65, which includes state 4-H Program fees, shotgun program fee, and use of all equipment. Classes will be held Sept. 11, 18 and 25 and Oct. 2 and 9 from noon-2 p.m. at the St. Joe Valley Conservation Club, 5871 County Road 60, St Joe. Class size is limited to 10 youth. Paid registration is due by Sept. 3. This class has a prerequisite; participants should have taken one or more of the other Allen County 4-H Shooting Sports programs.
