HUNTERTOWN — The Huntertown community celebrated over the weekend at the 2023 Huntertown Heritage Days Festival.

Activities planned Aug. 12 included a 5K race at Huntertown Elementary School, a parade, a Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehabilitation Center presentation, the Huntertown Community Market, a car show and even a circus.

According to Huntertown Park Board member Greg Kempel, the event draws a large crowd every year over the three-day period, which this year was Aug. 11-13.

He estimated Aug. 12’s 5K event had more than 100 runners and the car show attracted all ages of visitors. The community market from noon to 4 p.m. was held at the Huntertown Family Park, with other events in the vicinity to make it convenient for visitors.

People could purchase custom-made tumblers, fresh local produce, flowers, handmade plushies, wooden boards and more at the market.

The Cincinnati Circus performed impressive acrobatic feats every two hours and even the Carroll High School Marching Band performed some of its music for the audience.

While the Huntertown Historical Society raffled off a children’s bicycle, the group also celebrated the 10-year history of the Huntertown Family Park. Each vendor who attended the community market also raffled off an item.
