On Tuesday, April 11, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Illinois Road at Carnegie Boulevard, in Fort Wayne. The person was transported to a hospital and was pronounced deceased April 19.

The person was identified as Robert C. Schoenherr, 97, of Decatur, Indiana.

The cause of death has been determined to be blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle crash, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.

Robert C. Schoenherr is the 9th traffic fatality for Allen County for 2023.

This incident is under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
